The Gospel of Luke on DVD

Luke, more than any other Gospel, fits the category of ancient biography. As “narrator” of events, Luke sees Jesus as the Savior of all people, always on the side of the needy and the deprived.

Narrated in the NIV by British actor Richard E. Grant and in the KJV by Sir Derek Jacobi, this epic production was released October 17 on DVD. It features specially constructed sets and the authentic countryside of Morocco. The first ever word-for-word, unedited movie adaptation, The Gospel of Luke has been critically acclaimed by leading religious scholars as a unique and highly authentic telling of the Jesus story. It employs the same high production values and craft used previously in The Gospel of John.

A review from the Dove Foundation says The Gospel of Luke contains some mature content — violence such as occurred during Jesus’ day — but it is accessible to all viewers. Dove awarded it the Seal of Approval for All Ages.
