2021 Bible Advocate Theme:
Faithful
Hello, writers and readers of the Bible Advocate magazine! It is time to announce our theme for 2021. In line with the General Conference convention, our focus will be “Faithful.” Unlike recent years, we’ve decided not to have sub-themes for each of our six annual issues. This is good news for our writers: You are free to submit an article on any subject of your choosing. Take the opportunity to share a testimony, a study, a reflection, or a poem from a Christ-centered and Bible-based perspective.
“Faithful” is our overarching theme for the year, but examining this glorious, powerful word is limitless. It spans the grace and truth of our Lord God and our responsive relationship with Him. Faithful then refers first to God. Like Jeremiah, we are living in troublesome times, but as the prophet humbly confessed at Israel’s lowest moment, we, too, look to our Lord:
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22, 23, NKJV).
But faithful refers to us too. Having experienced God’s faithfulness in Jesus Christ, we must respond to Him in kind: “As servants of Christ . . . it is required in stewards that one be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:1, 2, NKJV).
It’s our desire to be found faithful in this time and place. We invite you to join us in encouraging all BA readers to embrace and embody this wonderful word in 2021.
